Born in Kingston, Jamaica W.I., and raised in southern California, singer/songwriter Philip Bardowell is a committed and accomplished musician. At the age of 12, Philip formed his first band, Destiny, with his brother, David, and their friend “Full House” actor John Stamos. Since then, Philip’s piano, guitar, and vocal talents have brought him on stage with leading musicians in virtually every musical genre.

For over 40 years, Philip has composed, played, and performed professionally. He first found himself on the road backing legendary surf duo Jan and Dean as a bassist and backup vocalist. Philip has also played with Peter Criss and Ace Frehley of KISS as rhythm guitarist and lead vocalist for Peter’s solo band, Criss, and was lead guitarist and vocalist for Mike Love of Beach Boys fame’s Endless Summer Beach Band. This connection with the Beach Boys continued when he was hand-picked by Carl Wilson to sing his parts as a member of the Beach Boys touring band when Wilson was stricken with cancer. Philip was a Beach Boy for several years until he left the band to write and record original music.

Philip’s first solo album, “In A Perfect World…” was met with success and great reviews. It immediately got Philip’s music noticed by the likes of radio personalities Mark and Brian of 95.5 KLOS in Los Angeles who invited Philip with his newly-formed band, Day After Rain, to play a one-hour set live on-air as the winner of the Mark And Brian Best Unsigned Artist competition. Philip and his band’s performance on that show prompted T.V. personality, Wayne Brady to call in and invite the band to appear on the Wayne Brady Show.

Philip has appeared on countless recordings as a vocalist and vocal arranger and recently received a platinum album for his work with Steel Breeze. He has also released three well-received contemporary Christian albums.

Philip and his brother have recently reunited with their longtime friend and first drummer, John
Stamos, and will release their first single, “Rearview Mirror” under the name Destiny Forever Featuring John Stamos in January 2024 on Harmony Records.
